Beach Picture Frame

After 4 years of living in this house. I finally have found some motivation to decorating out master bathroom. We are in the mist of redecorating out master bedroom soon. The theme we or shall I say I have gone with is a beach theme. We love the beach so much that we try to plan one trip (at least) every year! I say beach theme loosely. I love bright colors and the feel of the beach. My plan is to use blue, greens and browns in different tones to get the feel I am going for. I also plan to of course through in a few beach accessions without hopefully over doing it.

My first project: A beach theme picture frame

I started with an 8 X 10 picture frame with a 5 X 7 mat. I painted it a green color I already had on hand. At first I painted the mat a blue color that matches the shower curtain (that was a miss) and then quickly decided to wrap the mat in some left over burlap I had around. While I was at Walmart earlier I found a bag of vase filler that were shells on clearance and quickly snatched them up. Hot glued a few onto the mat and there it is. Simple and quick!

I have a picture of the beach from last year floating around her somewhere, that I pan to display in it. If I can only find it.

Total Cost:
Picture Frame: $3.00 (I could have gone to the dollar store and got one for $1.00 but for convince I just picked one up from Walmart)
Paint: Already had
Burlap: Scraps from another project
Shells: $2.00 (I still have over half the bag to use on something else!)
